Athletes from all sports around the Lehigh Valley and the country are joining the fight and assisting the HEADstrong Foundation in their efforts of supporting families affected by cancer. Attack Cancer is a fun and interactive way for individual athletes and teams to make an impact both on and off the field.
The Headstrong Foundation was founded by Nick Colleluori who was playing lacrosse at Hofstra after he was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-Cell non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a blood cancer affecting the lymphatic system.
Shortly after being diagnosed, Nicholas recognized a lack of resources for cancer patients and their families. Experiencing firsthand the hardships, from his hospital bed he created the HEADstrong Foundation to raise awareness and funds for cancer by empowering athletes to support his mission. He drew the organization’s logo moments before entering the operating room for a procedure, and outlined its mission and future plans.
The Lehigh Valley Lacrosse Community has a strong history of supporting the Headstrong Foundation, the Attack Cancer initiative, and Nick's House.
Over the years, the youth players and families of Lehigh Valley have raised over $100,000
As many as 9 families right here in the Lehigh Valley have benefited and been supported by the Headstrong Foundation.
